InvestEngine SIPP Review 2026

InvestEngine removes the two provider charges that usually dominate a self-directed SIPP comparison. A DIY portfolio has no platform fee and no dealing commission at any of the six balances I modelled.

The saving comes with a strict investment boundary. InvestEngine offers ETFs rather than individual shares, investment trusts or traditional mutual funds. That range works for a diversified ETF portfolio but cannot accommodate every strategy.

ETF charges and market spreads still reduce returns, and InvestEngine retains the interest earned on uninvested cash. A zero platform fee therefore does not mean investing is cost-free.

Retirement access is the weaker part of the proposition. InvestEngine supports flexi-access drawdown and UFPLS without its own withdrawal charge, but requests move through three stages of paper-based forms and the app may not show every drawdown detail.

I rate InvestEngine highly for long-term ETF accumulation. Someone expecting to hold direct shares or take frequent retirement income needs a broader and more mature SIPP.
