Vanguard SIPP Review 2026

Vanguard's Vanguard-only range is the decisive fact. The SIPP offers diversified Vanguard index funds and ETFs, not thousands of competing investments.

The restricted range helps investors build a simple global portfolio and avoid overlapping funds or performance chasing. The platform matches Vanguard's index-led approach.

The restriction also closes off other strategies. Investors cannot add a non-Vanguard fund, buy an individual share or hold an investment trust, so a change in strategy can require a provider transfer.

Below £32,000, the SIPP costs £4 a month, so a £10,000 pot pays 0.48%. The modelled fee is £75 at £50,000, and the £375 cap helps at larger balances. The 0.15% headline does not describe the cost for smaller pots.

I rate Vanguard for investors whose plans fit its range, rather than simply because its percentage fee looks low. It is one of the clearest SIPPs for a Vanguard-only investor.
